FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded):
EX: After having known Edward for just a few short months, Bella admits that “it would cause [her] physical pain to be separated from him now" (Meyer 283).
The world we live in today is considered "an information society, this means not only to be able to read, write, and calculate, but also to become media literate" (Livingstone).
Some common aspects of technology can be that " television is a stable companion after school hours, music is a mood creator, and electronic games may be catalysts for meeting friends" (Livingstone).

For kids technolgy can cause them to be pressured "to be seen to be 'doing something,' or 'keeping up' with everyone else"(Livingstone).
Its a usual thing to see a "media environment in the homes and bedrooms of children and teenagers" now days (Livingstone).
After television was established, "the fear has been expressed that the traditional reading culture or word-oriented culture is being replaced by an image-oriented one" (Livingstone).

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

The book mainly is about the media enviorment that surrounds children in Europe, it is from a different country but from reading I can compare it to the children living in the U.S and see many comparisons.

Credibility of Source:
Author or Editor: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the editor.

Sonia Livingstone and Moira Bovill are the authors of this book, I'm not aware of any training they've had.

Attachment: Does the author or editor have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative?

They can gain even more information when comparing and contrasting the children of other countries rather than just Europe itself.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

The author mostly favors the opposing views towards technology and children, but they do have a few things in there for you to think about to change your mind about the issue.

References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

The authors aren't taking any credibility, it's their own opinion and writing on the children of Europe.

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?

I will use the information in this book for the views on the other countries, I can research more of a global issue rather than just the children living in the U.S

FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded):

EX: After having known Edward for just a few short months, Bella admits that “it would cause [her] physical pain to be separated from him now" (Meyer 283).
Technology can "affect deeply all aspects of life, and their very existence gives rise to numerous and constant problems outside of the engineering
field"(Rosen).
The only time when people actually read on printed papper is when they "glance at a newspaper to be aware of the creative powers of inventions" (Rosen).

With technology changing it ends up being "an era of rapid change and
of widespread adjustment" (Rosen).
The machine is considers technology therefore "the machine has brought into
being a new kind of world, and that just as we speak of an
industrial revolution of the past so we identify the present
as an age of great technological change" (Rosen).

From what an author said 50 years ago, they recall that "50,000 inventions are granted in the United States annually" (Rosen).

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

This book explains all aspects of technology, refers to technology as machinery since it was published back in the 1940s where they were inventing machines for improvement in things. This is proof that even technology like a vacuum is changing the way we live.

Credibility of Source:
Author or Editor: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the editor.

This is the only book these authors have ever published. There are two contributors.

Attachment: Does the author or editor have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative?

After writing this, it was a while back but now that we are living the life they predicted they could gain information and answers from todays daily lives.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

I do agree with most of the things this book says, but since it s reference is from years ago, I believe we still have the same priorities and issues there was back then.

References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

The references the author uses is the affect of the recent inventions they were releasing back when this was written.

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?

This can be apart of my history section in my essay, it can be very helpful for comparing and contrasting the inventions of technology from back then and now.
